A Little About Us

Gallery Forty-Two is recognized as one of the industry's premier art gallery and event venue spaces in downtown Indianapolis. The building itself is recognized by Historic Preservation of Indianapolis as the oldest surviving commercial structure in the city of Indianapolis dating back to its original construction in the 1830's. The Gallery Forty-Two building as it stands today is a masterpiece of renovation completed in 2014 by philanthropic natives of Indiana, Jim and Linda Hunter.  With no stone left unturned, every inch of the building was identified, restored and repaired, and brought back to life redecorated and designed for one single purpose; For people to see and experience both history and modern-day vision.

Purchased in 2021 by local businessman and two-time Olympian, Bill Kessler, Gallery Forty-Two continues its tradition of honoring its past while offering forever memories to those that enter through its doors.

Gallery Forty-Two regularly host local, regional, national, and international art exhibits.  Join us every First Friday for our monthly open house from 6-10PM.  Always free and open to all!
