Gallery Forty Two begins second season of Saturday Art and Music Jams
"It's like a dance." That's how Gallery Forty Two artist Tim Nyberg describes the exercise of painting to live music. "I paint the mood, color, and texture that I hear in the music and the musicians often improv to what they see me painting. It's all rather spontaneous, surprising, and rewarding."
Gallery visitors seem to enjoy watching this "dance" and have enthusiastically awaited the return of Gallery Forty Two's Saturday afternoon art and music jams.
The Jana Nyberg Group will launch the second season of the Art and Music Jams Saturday, July 5th from 1 to 4pm. Other musicians in this season's Saturday afternoon line-up are Woody Mankowski, Lee Tomboulian, Greg Pagel, Evan Montgomery, Derek Dreier, Ross Caterton and more.

Caffeine and Acrylic
Tim Nyberg Paints a Tribute to Coffee
Door County artist Tim Nyberg has created a freshly-brewed batch of paintings created specifically for his "Caffeine and Acrylic" exhibit at Kick Coffee.
"I have two vices... well, maybe three, no make that four." Tim admitted. "Two of my healthier vices - one is good, strong coffee and the other is doodling. This group of paintings all started out as caffeine-induced doodles and then made their way to large canvases just for this show at Kick. You may see someone you recognize in the paintings. And, I think they'll bring a smile."
Nyberg went on to express his appreciation to Kick for offering their wall space to local and regional artists. "It really helps expose our art to a wide variety of people - locals and tourists alike."
The month-long show will open at Kick Coffee on Friday, May 2nd at 7pm with a wine and hors d'oeuvre reception. In June, the exhibit will move to Tim's gallery in Juddville (Gallery Forty Two). More information about Tim's art can be found online at GalleryFortyTwo.com
